Bill Rates

TicketRx includes a billing system to calculate how much to charge utility companies for performing locating services. The charges are calculated for each locate performed. The charges may vary based on:

  • what utility was located
  • how many utilities were located
  • how much time was spent
  • the distance located
  • how recently the site was re-marked
  • the final status of the ticket / locates
  • whether it was an emergency
  • whether it was after hours
  • whether it was a standby ticket
  • whether it was a design ticket
  • other factors, with the assistance of the TicketRx support team

The billing options are configured via the Bill Rates module.

To create a new bill rate click on the Create button. Enter in all necessary information on each of the tabs. Once all necessary information has been entered, click the Save button.

Details Tab

The Details tab allows you to specify which Utility and Term codes the bill rate is associated with and contains the following fields:

  • Utility (Abbrev)
  • Term code
  • Tier - the number of different utilities on the ticket. Separate billing rates can be configured based on the amount of different utilities to be located on the ticket. If the value "*" is entered for the tier, any tiers not assigned a billing rate will be billed at this rate. For example, if there are 2 different utilities to be located on a ticket it will be billed using tier "2" or "*" (if there is no tier 2 billing rate) billing rates.
  • Re-mark Interval - A re-mark that occurs within this interval is not billed. However, if it is re-marked because the marks are destroyed, then it will be billed again.

The Rates tab allows you to specify rates for each type of ticket and contains the following fields:

  • Additional Rate
  • Emergency Regular Hours
  • Emergency After Hours
  • Hourly
  • Standby Regular Hours
  • Standby After Hours
  • Design Regular Hours
  • Design After Hours

Status Rates Tab

The Status Rates tab allows you to specify values for each locate status type. To add a value to a status, follow these steps:

  1. Highlight the status type in the list you would like to add a value to.
  2. Enter the value you want added to this status in the text box to the left of the Update All button.
  3. Click the Update Selected button.

Note: To add this value to all status types, click the Update All button.
