Receivers

The Receivers module is used to configure an email feed to retrieve transmissions from an email box or an FTP site.

To configure retrieval for a new feed, select receiver type in the upper right corner of the screen and click the Create button. Enter all the necessary data into the Details tab. Once all necessary information has been entered, click the Save button.

Once you have finished configuring the receiver, click the Apply Changes To Production button. This will copy the configuration from the database to the config file used by the email retrieval program. Until this is done the changes will not go into effect. This is done to ensure that the transmission retrieval program will run even if the database is down.

The Receivers screen contains the following fields:

  • Host - email box or FTP site the transmissions are retrieved from
  • Username - username used to log in to the email box or FTP site where the transmissions are retrieved from
  • Password - password used to log in to the email box or FTP site where the transmissions are retrieved from
  • Limit - set the limit for how many transmissions are retrieved at one time
  • Emergency Marker - specify a string to look for in a transmission to identify it as an emergency. If a transmission file is identified as an emergency, it will be given priority for loading into the database. This value does not cause it to be marked as an emergency in the database, however. The parser for the feed determines whether it is marked as an emergency in the database.
  • Feed - feed that the transmissions are being retrieved for
  • Active - specify whether the retrieval is active or not. Transmissions are only retrieved from active entries. This allows retrieval to be configured in advance and then be "turned on" when necessary.

The Receivers module is shown below:

You can change the columns that are displayed on the Receivers module by configuring the grid.
