View Locator's Location In Microsoft MapPoint®

Use the MapPoint drop-down button on the Ticket Manager screen to view the location of locators or the route taken by a locator, in Microsoft MapPoint®. The drop-down menu contains two options:

  • MapPoint - Locators
  • MapPoint - Route

MapPoint Button

MapPoint - Locators

Choosing the MapPoint - Locators option and clicking the button opens Microsoft MapPoint® with a map displaying the locators' last recorded locations within the last day. If a user is highlighted in the list when the MapPoint is clicked then all users below this user in the user hierarchy are shown on the map, including the highlighted user. If no user is highlighted in the list, only users below the logged on user in the user hierarchy are shown on the map.

The following info is shown on the map:

  • User's location
  • Username
  • Time the location was recorded from GPS device

MapPoint - Route

Choosing the MapPoint - Route option and clicking the button opens Microsoft MapPoint® with a map displaying the locator's route for the current day, as recorded from the GPS device. Only the route for the highlighted user is displayed.

The following info is shown on the map:

  • The route taken is highlighted
  • User's location when GPS data was collected

If the location is selected in the Route Planner box, then the following additional data is displayed next to the selected point on the map.

  • Time the location was recorded from GPS device
  • Action performed when GPS Data was collected (Sync, Worked Ticket, etc.)

Additional Info On MapPoint Map

The times that are listed on the time column in the Route Planner box, shown below, are based on the start and end times that are defined in theMore Route Options* box. Choose the More Options option from the Route menu to open the More Route Options box.

Note: The user must have Microsoft MapPoint® installed on their machine to use this feature.
