Bandwidth Testing
The TicketRx application depends on an Internet connection to perform many tasks. Without a connection, TicketRx cannot sync to download new tickets, upload timesheet data, or upload the statuses of completed tickets. It also affects the ability to run reports and make changes in the Admin screens. An erratic or weak Internet connection can produce the same problems. A bandwidth test tool measures the download and upload speeds of an Internet connection and may help to ensure that TicketRx should be able to effectively communicate with our system.
One example of an online bandwidth test tool is available here: http://www.bandwidth.com/tools/speedTest/
To use the tool, click the "Begin Test" button in the middle of the page. It will test the download speed, then the upload speed. After the tests have completed, the results will be displayed.
TicketRx is designed to work with a connection speed as low as 10 Kbps. However, connection problems, such as a weak signal for an air card, may prevent TicketRx from communicating with our system. This test may help determine whether a weak Internet connection is causing TicketRx to fail while performing specified tasks.
